AI voice and video scams: verify beyond appearances
Understand how synthetic voice, altered video and generated text affect the reliability of familiar fraud signals.

A familiar voice may be simulated
An attacker can combine public audio or video samples with a convincing story. A voice call alone is not sufficient to authorise an exceptional financial transfer.
Create a callback procedure or another trusted confirmation path before an urgent request occurs.
Context remains decisive
Synthetic media can be convincing, but older methods such as social engineering and compromised accounts are often used alongside it.
Evaluate who initiated the contact, why the instruction is unusual and whether the recipient can confirm it independently.
Apply cautious technical review
Detection tools may produce false positives or miss manipulated media; do not present their output as absolute proof.
Vigifraude focuses on awareness and controlled software use, rather than attributing synthetic content to named people.
